Ferrari California Handling Speciale (2012)

This is the Ferrari California revisions, which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. It's got more power, less weight, and can be optioned with a sharpening of the package-handling chassis Speciale, all the features of last year scooped by CAR.
California caused an uproar when it was launched, ushering in a whole host of firsts for Ferrari: it is the company's first convertible with a folding metal roof, the first with a double clutch gearbox, front-engined V8 Ferrari first, and the first with direct injection engine technology. And this signifies a change-up mid-life itch to SL Merc and Bentley Continental GTC rivals.
So what exactly is new in the new Ferrari California?

Direct injection 4.3 liter V8 (California was the front-engined V8 Ferrari first) has a new exhaust manifold and revised engine mapping. Which means 453bhp to 483bhp, while torque figures have been bumped from 358 pounds to 372 pounds ft ft at 5000rpm the same, with Ferrari claiming meatier torque curve before the peak.

As for weight reduction, Ferrari has managed to trim 30 kg of aluminum chassis thanks to new construction and fabrication techniques, but there seems to have no effect on the overall stiffness. With more power but less weight 0-62mph time is now 3.8 seconds - Ferrari claimed earlier sub '4 .0 '.
How to upgrade the handling of this trick?
This is an optional package Speciale Handling, designed, Ferrari says, to 'meet the needs of the clients wanted, more dynamic, but not too extreme, driving experience'. That means stiffer springs, dampers are controlled by the ECU magnetorheological 50% faster, and a new steering box with a steering ratio of 10% faster for quicker turn-in.
But if it's not your thing, then maybe you'll be tempted by a wider palette of paint, with a touch-tone two and three layers of several classic Ferrari colors schemes. Prices for both Ferrari California was revised and Handling Speciale package has not been announced.
