Peugeot 208 GTi Concept (2012)

This is a Peugeot GTI concept, and it hatches close-hot 200bhp Peugeot will unveil at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.Unveiled together it would be a Peugeot 208 Concept XY.

 Peugeot 208 GTI concept is technically still a concept, but the hottest Peugeot 208 THP 156 engine was running, so the mule our spy saw the cold weather testing is considered an early prototype for a production version of this GTI. We guess to see the production version of the Peugeot 208 GTI in 2012 Paris motor show this fall.
If it turns out anything like sister company Citroen DS3 Racing, have a very nice car.
True, the important details! Is Peugeot 208 GTI hot hatch concept right?
These materials are very promising. THP 200 engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter that same four-cylinder that you will find at the top-spec RCZ. 197bhp at 5500rpm, which means, plus £ 188 ft at 1700rpm (or £ 203 ft with overboost facility). Peugeot has not made a claim of acceleration, but the sense of high sixes or low-seven to 62mph from a standstill.

Chassis-wise the 208 GTi has a 36mm wider track, front and rear, while the 302mm (front) and 249mm (rear) discs take care of stopping it.

There are very subtle bodykit, with wheelarch extensions neatly integrated rear spoiler wise, and a small black 'diffuser' with two chrome tailpipes. And in a nod to the spit-you-through-a-hedge-backwards-if-you-up-the mid-point of the original 205 GTI, GTI logo there is brushed aluminum on the rear quarter panel behind the rear window.

The front grille should be in the style of a checkered flag, and patriotic blood before you upset with the French tricolor flag on the white bumper insert, the last photo illustrates Concept GTI 208 with Union Jack on the muzzle.
What about inside?
Sports seats trimmed in Nappa leather and fabric, while the flat-bottomed (no Peugeot, no!) All but leather steering wheel with contrasting red stitching. Alcantara covers the dash, roof lining is black, and the pedals are aluminum.
